Early Reunion planned for July 31- August 1, 2009

Plans are underway for our Early reunion to be held at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park on Friday July 31 - Saturday August 1, 2009. A limited number of rooms and cabins have been held for the Early Family until April 1, 2009. Call today 1-800-325-0063 and identify yourself as a member of our group to ensure you have a place to stay! Don’t miss any of the important information and exchange about our family history!

Activities will include a welcome reception in the park on Friday evening. Saturday morning’s program will revolve around new and exciting leads about our earliest ancestors, as well as discussion about the best way to proceed in following these clues.

There will be a report on our gathering last summer in the Bristol and Abingdon, Virginia area as well.
For those of you who have joined us in previous meeting at Cumberland Falls you know that the Dupont Lodge is a first class historical location. There are a number of fun activities in the Corbin and Williamsburg, Kentucky area. Importantly, the resort is close to the final resting place of our earliest known ancestors and we hope to plan an afternoon excursion to these sites on Saturday.
Not only is the scenery around the Falls spectacular, but ample hiking and horsebacking trails are here too. Canoeing, whitewater rafting, and tubing are available from a professional outfitter just 5 miles east of the resort. There is camping in the park as well and ample lodging in the surrounding areas of Corbin and Williamsburg for the budget minded. If you are traveling from other parts of the country you may wish to take time to visit sites along the way, such as Mammoth Cave, the Corvette Museum or Cumberland Gap National Park! Even in these tough economic times you deserve a well-earned break, and how better to spend it than gathering with your ‘cousins” and learning more stories about our family and mutual connections?
